The “Teflon Don” writes to a female admirer from prison: “I’m sorry they returned the St. Jude emblem—it seems it violates one of their rules.”

Organized crime boss who became a major media celebrity. After an extensive operation that cost $75 million, Gotti, who had repeatedly eluded the law, was finally convicted of murder and racketeering in 1992. As a repeat offender, he was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole and sent to federal prison in Marion, Illinois, where he died in 2002. ALS, two pages on adjoining interior panels of a 5 x 7 greeting card, no date. The incarcerated Gotti sends greetings and thanks to Samantha. In part: “I received your letter and photo. Thank you! You are a very beautiful young lady. I received your letter on Christmas Eve, and reading that you are on the road to recovery made my holidays great!… It’s your courage that’s admirable. You’re the brave one. I know you’ll have a complete recovery, and my wishes are that it’s speedy.” In fine condition, with small PSA/DNA label to back of card. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
