Nixon sends actor/senator George Murphy the pen he used to sign the bill to establish the Interagency Committee on Mexican-American Affairs

Lot of three one-page TLSs, one signed as president and two as vice president, all written to Senator (and former actor) George Murphy. Presidential letter on White House letterhead, signed “R. N.,” and dated January 16, 1970, reads, in full, “Knowing of your particular interest in S. 740, which establishes the Interagency Committee on Mexican-American Affairs, I thought you would like to have the enclosed pen to mark my signing this legislation into public law on December 30.” Vice presidential letters are from 1954 and 1955, both signed “Dick.” Presidential letter is accompanied by its original mailing envelope.
