Top German aviator in World War I known as the Red Baron. He shot down 80 enemy planes before being killed in action in 1918. Vintage 3.5 x 5.5 head and shoulders German postcard photo, signed in fountain pen, “Frhr Richthofen.” Reverse bears a greeting to Berta Tetzner, done in another hand. Accompanied by Tetzner’s original passport, dated 1924. In fine condition, with some scattered light soiling, slightly rounded corners and a few light surface marks.
