Description

Professional golfer who beat Jack Nicklaus by five strokes in the 1964 British open. His promising career was cut short at age thirty-two, when the plane he was traveling in crashed on a golf course in Illinois; the crew, Lema, and his wife Betty were instantly killed. Pencil signature and inscription, “To Vic, Golfingly, Tony Lema,” on an off-white 4.5 x 5.5 slip. In fine condition, with light overall toning from previous display.
