Hoover solicits a member for a committee “In view of certain protests that have been made to me…I have decided to reexamine the entire situation and determine whether or not some other locality…would be more advantageous to the veterans’ service”

TLS as president, one page, 8 x 10.5, White House letterhead, February 15, 1932. President Hoover recruits a committee member concerning the location of a new V. A. hospital. In part, “In view of certain protests that have been made to me relative to their action and because of an implied wish of the House Committee on World War Veteran’s Legislation…I have decided to reexamine the entire situation and determine whether or not some other locality…would be more advantageous to the veterans’ service…I am asking you to serve as a member of the board.” Rusty paperclip mark to top edge and expected folds, otherwise fine condition.
