Description

A letter almost as confounding as the man himself

Industrialist, aviator and film producer; billionaire who in his later years became an eccentric recluse. TLS signed “Howard R. Hughes,” one page, 8.5 x 11, July 21, 1955. Legal letter from Hughes to General Teleradio, Inc. In part, “Refer to our contract…designated the ‘principal agreement’…none of hte Corporations…will have incurred…any liability or obligation…known to me which under sound accounting practice would require the setting up of a liability or reserve…none of the certain Corporations during such period will have been served with process in any litigation, other than certain expected litigation, which fact prior to time of closing is known to me and unknown to you.” Signed at the conclusion in blue ink by Hughes. In fine condition, with punch holes to top edge and erased pencil notation to top left. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
