Business tycoon and philanthropist. Rare TLS signed “J. K. Lilly,” one page, 7.5 x 10.5, Eli Lilly and Company letterhead, September 22, 1924. Letter to a doctor regarding the donation of supplies “for the dispensary of the new Riley Memorial Hospital.” In part: “At trade prices this amounts to $1316.19 and while this is somewhat beyond the amount we had mentioned for a donation, it gives us a great deal of pleasure to supply this list just as it is. Our people will submit to you a list of the narcotics, so that you may make up an order covering same as provided by law…I want you to know that we are all tremendously proud of your institution…and we want to be a factor in its development.” In fine condition, with typical “received” stamp, a few minor creases.
