Creator of Esquire magazine’s sensuous Petty Girls. Lot of two TLSs, each signed “Geo. B. Petty,” on his personal letterhead. First is a two page letter, dated March 21, 1939, writing to a gentleman who is about to embark on a big game hunting trip. Petty offers advice about proper attire, ammunition availability and notes that “The January issue of Esquire carries the story of an African elephant hunt I had the good fortune to make last fall.” Second letter is one page, dated December 5, 1939 and sent to the same recipient, only after his hunt, as Petty looks forward to hearing about it. In fine condition, with light toning to first page of first letter, expected folds and a few wrinkles. R&R COA.
