Interesting ALS on Spencer Tracy letterhead, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, June 21, 1967. The legendary star writes to John Day, in full: “Yes - You are my friend - I was touched by your kind thoughts - Thank you. Katharine Hepburn.” Hepburn’s frequent costar and intimate companion, Spencer Tracy, died just eleven days earlier, on June 10, and it seems likely that the “kind thoughts” she refers to were condolences upon Tracy’s passing. A poignant association from this most legendary of Hollywood couples. In fine condition, with usual folds, one affecting signature, and light toning at edges. R&R COA.
