ALS signed “R. R.,” one page, 6 x 9, no date. Letter to a young man in Massachusetts. In full, “Thank you very much for your letter and for your kind words about me. You’ve honored me greatly with your thought that I could be considered for that high office. Whatever lies ahead for me I’ll be proud to have your support. I wish you the very best at Harvard and am sure that Harvard is in for an interesting time. I wish I could see it.” Light diagonal line through text, with a secretary’s initials and a date of July 3, 1968, written next to line, otherwise fine condition.
