In 1922 Woolsey appeared with W.C. Fields in The Blue Kitten. When he was signed for Florence Ziegfeld's Rio Rita in 1927, he teamed up with Bert Wheeler. Both repeated their stage roles in RKO's film version of that musical. Due to their success, both were teamed up again for more pictures, a career that kept on until Woolsey’s failing health made further work impossible. Vintage sepia matte-finish 10 x 8 photo, signed “Bert Wheeler” in fountain pen and signed and inscribed “To Allan Mueller, Yours for fun, Robert Woolsey.” In fine condition, with scattered areas of blue discoloration from flaws inherent in the negative, a mild corner bend.
