Description

Worked on the stage, in vaudeville and with Shirley Temple in her first three films. By the late 1930s he was drinking heavily and had become virtually unemployable. In 1945, he was able to make a comeback and win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in ATree Grows in Brooklyn. In the 1950s, he was a regular on the television series It's a Great Life. Vintage sepia matte-finish 11 x 14 profile portrait of the young Dunn, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Gittelson Bros.” In fine condition, with scattered surface impressions, corner creases, chip to upper right corner.
