ALS in French, signed “Sarah,” one page, 3.5 x 4.75, personal letterhead, no date. Letter to a friend after the death of Bernhardt’s husband. In full, “Jacques is dead. This very night. I beg of you come and help me with whatever there is to be done about the press.” Double matted and framed with a portrait of Bernhardt, to an overall size of 14.5 x 12.
