In part, “It was very thoughtful of you to offer to send me a ticket of admission to the impeachment proceedings on April 25, 1868. I would, of course, be very glad to receive this ticket, but I am most reluctant to accept it as it must be of great interest to you.” Beneath his signature Kennedy adds, “You were most kind.” In fine condition, with two horizontal mailing folds.
