Swedish writer whose novels include Gösta Berlings Saga (1891). In 1909 she became the first woman to win the Nobel Prize for literature. Vintage sepia matte-finish 4.25 x 6.5 A. Joneson carte-de-visite portrait of the thoughtful-looking writer, signed in fountain pen in the border beneath the image. On the reverse is a brief note, apparently in Swedish and signed by Lagerlöf. In fine condition, with minor surface wear, light wear to the corners, and a couple of areas of discoloration, perhaps inherent in the negative. R&R COA.
