Lot of six books from Lowell’s personal library, each signed by him on the inside front cover. He lived in London for a time and his full name and address appears in one of the books on the first free end page, 31 Lowndes Square in London. These books subsequently went into the hands of Francis Lowell Burnett, MD (Elmwood, 1912). She signed the same book (half-title page) with Lowell’s name and London address and initialed the other five books. Elmwood was the home of the Lowells. All the books are in Italian. Lowell taught romance languages at Harvard and was the department chair. Accompanied by a photocopied biographical information and image of the author. In overall good to very good condition, with wear to the spines, scuffing, etc. Four of the spines have been reinforced with clear tape. They were most obviously read! R&R COA.
