Afflicted at birth with spinal tuberculosis which left him in poor health, Webb was a small, hunchbacked man, who, for many jazz fans, remains the greatest jazz drummer to have ever played the instrument. His compositions include Stompin’ At the Savoy and Chew, Chew, Chew. He worked with Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Benny Carter, Louis Jordan and many more. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Mush, from Chick Webb.” In fine condition, with a few minor surface impressions. R&R COA.
