Description

Wagner check filled out and signed with his seldom-seen full name

One of the Hall of Fame's five original inductees in 1936, Honus Wagner combined rare offensive and defensive excellence throughout a 21-year career. Also was the first baseball player to have his signature branded into a Louisville Slugger baseball bat. Personal check, 8.5 x 3.25, filled out and signed by Wagner using the extremely uncommon full form of his name, “John H. Wagner,” payable to The Bell Telephone Company Of Pennsylvania for $3.60, February 10, 1919. In fine condition, with a bisecting vertical fold, cancellation holes barely affecting the tops of a few letters of signature and light show through from stamp on reverse. COA Steve Grad/PSA/DNA, COA Mike Gutierrez/Global, and R&R COA.
