The document reads, "A report of officers and enlisted men absent from 2nd brigade 3rd division, Calvary Corps under provisions of General Orders Nos. 3 and 10 . . . 1863 Head quarters, Army of the Potomac. March 13th 1864." The document lists only a single name: "A. Walker, Capt. 4th Mich Regiment." Nicely signed "G.A. Custer” at the conclusion.
