Legalese in Lincoln’s hand, signed as a partner of “Lincoln & Herndon”

Legal manuscript in Lincoln’s hand, about 7.75 x 1, no date. A partial signed Lincoln legal brief, 50 words in his own hand, signed “Lincoln & Herndon.” Brief is written on blue paper in black ink. In full, “And for further plea on the behalf, said defendants say act is now, because they say the said Thomas Lewis, at the time he assumed to assign said note, had not full power and authority, to make said assignment of this, the defendants put themselves upon the county, Lincoln & Herndon.” Double suede matted and framed with a portrait to an overall size of 24 x 14.5.
