Description

After 31 years in the Cardinals organization, Keane replaced Solly Hemus as manager midway through 1961. He led St. Louis to a World Championship in 1964 but, upset that friend and GM Bing Devine had been fired, resigned to manage the Yankees in 1965. DS, two pages, 8.5 x 11, National League of Professional Baseball Clubs letterhead, September 6, 1962. Agreement between the St. Louis Cardinals and Keane for his managerial services for the 1963 baseball season. Keane will receive a $30,000 salary. Also signed on a back panel by National League president Warren Giles. In very good condition, with expected folds, edge wear and tear to left side of both pages. R&R COA.
