John Lennon’s hardcover Mercury stamp album from 1950, 6.5 x 8.5, signed on the first free end page in blue ballpoint “John Lennon, 251 Menlove Avenue, Woolton, Liverpool,” and signed again further down the page “John Lennon.” At the top left corner of the same page are three pencil ‘practice’ signatures in pencil, with “Lennon” written twice as it appears he is trying to work out the formation of his signature. There are also a couple of small notations in Lennon’s hand as well. Album contains over 145 pages with many interesting stamps. First free end page also bears a light inscription from Lennon’s cousin Stanley Parks. Originally acquired from a 2004 Christie’s auction. In very good condition, with scattered light toning and soiling to signed page, worn but intact front cover spine and expected age and handling wear from a stamp collector.
