A letter to director Budd Boetticher reads, in part: “It was a complete surprise to see the wonderful piece you contributed to my 50th birthday videotape. I was overwhelmed by the great amount of thoughtfulness and effort that went into its making. Although we have never met, I have always admired your work. I just acquired most of your films for my collection, which I am donating to the Museum of Modern Art.” In fine condition, with a horizontal fold touching two letters of the signature, scattered faint creasing.
