Best known for his service as treasurer of the US during the Civil War. He is credited with bringing women into the civil service. Lot of four checks, all approximately 7.5 x 3, ranging in dated from 1880 to 1884, three filled out in another hand and signed by Spinner and one filled out and signed by Spinner, all valued between $29-$31. In very good condition, with scattered toning, cancellation cuts to bodies, tear to corner of one check and show through from notations on reverse. R&R COA.
