Both an Ivy League graduate and college boxing champion, Robert Ryan created a gallery of some of the most interesting villians on film. His first featured role as a bigoted villain in the film Crossfire earned Ryan a Best Supporting Actor nomination and type-cast him for a majority of his remaining roles.
