Description

Writer best known for his tales of Californian mining camps, including “The Outcasts of Poker Flat” and “The Luck of Roaring Camp.” ALS, one page, 5 x 8, Grand Hotel Birmingham letterhead, no date. Letter to a lady. In part, “I am on my way to London tomorrow, but I fear I will not arrive in time to come to you the same day. But I will come on Tuesday, if I do not hear from you that you have been blown out to sea by the gales or water.” Matted and framed with a stereograph portrait of Harte, to an overall size of 14.5 x 21. In fine condition, with expected folds and a few trivial spots. R&R COA.
