“Mr. Manchester stated that you asked me if the President was dead, and I took a deep breath and said: ‘He’s dead all right.’ Mr. Sidney I did not tell you, or any other reporter, or any group of reporters the President was dead.”

Priest who administered Last Rites to President Kennedy. Lot of five one page signed typescripts of letters from Father Oscar L. Huber and Time reporter Hugh Sidey. Each measures 8.5 x 11, four are one page in length and the other is three pages in length. All are signed “Rev. Oscar L. Huber C. M.” and all are dated from 1969. The first letter from February 11, reads, in part, “First I wish to introduce myself as the Priest who administered the Last Rites to President Kennedy, on Novembner 22, 1963…Mr. Manchester stated that you asked me if the President was dead, and I took a deep breath and said: ‘He’s dead all right.’ Mr. Sidney I did not tell you, or any other reporter, or any group of reporters the President was dead.” In fine condition, with some light toning.
