DS, 8.5 x 11, September 5, 1961, 56 pages. The employment agreement between Paramount Pictures Corporation and John Wayne for his services in the film The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, a film in which a senator, who became famous for killing a notorious outlaw, returns to a funeral of a homeless man and tells the truth about his deed. The film was directed by John Ford and also starred James Stewart and Lee Marvin. The agreement details compensation, distribution, use of Wayne’s likeness, etc. The agreement is accompanied by six unsigned, related documents. A must for the serious John Wayne collector! In fine condition, with usual file and staple holes, light staining to the left edges of a few of the pages and to the binder. PSA/DNA COA and R&R COA.
