President Polk pardons a mail robber

DS, one page, 7.5 x 8.25, March 13, 1847. Polk orders the acting Secretary of State 'to affix the Seal of the United States to the pardon granted to Evan J. Lee convicted of robbing the mail,' boldly signed at the conclusion by Polk. Suede matted and framed with a portrait of Polk, to an overall size of 22 x 16.5 In fine condition, with two horizontal folds. Polk's signature is very bold!
