Document signed by Jefferson as president and Madison as Secretary of State, entitled 'An act to enable the Officers and the Soldiers of the Virginia Line on Continental Establishment, to obtain titles to certain lands lying north-west of the River Ohio, between the Little Miami and Sciota,' granting James McNutt ninety acres of land. Signed at the bottom by Jefferson and Secretary of State Madison. Impressively double cloth matted and framed with sitting portraits of Jefferson and Madison, to an overall size of 36 x 21.5 In very good condition, with some scattered light spotting and soiling, a bit heavier in the folds, Jefferson's signature a bit light but legible, some of the written text also a bit on the light side and an intact seal.
