Description

Legendary American Indian athlete. Thorpe was the first man to win both the decathlon and the pentathlon at the Olympic Games (1912). After being barred from amateur athletics for having played semi-pro baseball, Thorpe went on to become a football star of legendary stature. He is widely considered the greatest all-around athlete of all time. Four cent USPS postal stamp, 1.5 x 1, honoring Generals Lee and Jackson, signed across the front in fountain pen by Thorpe.
