Description

I. Stanford Jolley

I. Stanford Jolley was a busy workman in scores of B features, primarily portraying the head villain or henchman in westerns and cliffhangers. His film work began in the late 1930s and continued until the early 1970s. As B film supporting work and bit parts faded, Jolley migrated to TV, and during the 1950s and early 1960s, he appeared in Gunsmoke, Wagon Train, Wild Bill Hickock, Perry Mason and lots of other shows. Rare vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 photo, signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint 'Well Kevin! - Hi Ya Cowpoke! Here's wishing you the best of all good things in '61. Sincerely, Stan Jolley,' adding 'Hollywood, Calif 2/61.' On the reverse, Jolley has written a nice letter to Kevin, complimenting his on his school work, signing both 'Stan Jolley,' and 'I Stanford Jolley.' In fine condition, with a bit of light soiling to lower right corner. Any Jolley signed photo is extremely difficult to find, let alone one signed three times. RRAuction COA.
