Description

Reagan dispells rumors of a 1968 Reagan-Rockefeller ticket

ALS signed 'Ronald,' one page, 8.5 x 11, July 24, 1967. Letter to Admiral Ben Morrill dispelling rumors of the 1968 election. In full, 'There are two theories as to how that rumor (and it is just that) get started. Bill Henry said it was pure journalistic hot air encased in a trial balloon and then the journalists started believing their own stories - sort of a case of intellectual inbreeding. The other is that it is a deliberate plant intended to do some damage but no hint as to who was the planter. Let me assure you 'It Ain't Time.' Frankly I think half the people named in the rumor is running now but the half I know about isn't a candidate for anything.' Accompanied by the Admiral's original letter to Reagan. In fine condition, with a staple hole to top left and a couple small notations. RRAuction COA.
