ALS, one page, 8 x 8.5, March 6, 1837. Letter written two months after leaving office, concerning a magazine subscription. In full, 'Gentleman, I have just received your note of the 4th inst, enclosing the prospectus of 'the United States Magazine and Democratic Review.' I have read the prospectus with much intense interest, as I have long thought that such a work in the great city of this union was much wanted as an evidence of approbation of this work will find me, one of your subscribers.' The first issue of the United States Magazine and Democratic review was published in October, 1837. Archivally double matted and framed with a portrait of Jackson, to an overall size of 23 x 16.
