He was selected as a delegate to the Continental Congress in 1776, and was in strong favor of the Declaration of Independence. Scarce letter, an order for items to be sent to Mess. Conyngham and Nesbitt, merchants in Philadelphia, for the account of the Dove, Captain Daniel Ferguson. Reverse bears part of an integral address leaf, addressed in another hand. Chip to bottom edge, some mild toning and spotting, and paper loss to top edge affecting text and professionally restored.
