“As for replacements, there was always Moe and I. Shemp, Moe and I originally started in shows & vaudeville around new York with a man called Ted Healy.”

ALS, one page both sides, 6 x 8. Letter to an admirer giving a brief history of the Stooges. In part, 'As far am my getting hurt in those pictures, some of them were so long ago (1934) that I've forgotten now. I guess I remember bruises and aches and pains...As for replacements, there was always Moe and I. Shemp, Moe and I originally started in shows and vaudeville around new York with a man called Ted Healy...Shemp decided to stay in New York. So we replaced him with his and Moe's kid brother Curly. Then in 1946 Curly got sick and Shemp came back. Curly died in 1952. Then Shemp died in 1955.' In fine condition, with a touch of light toning and expected folds. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Fine's hand. RRAuction COA.
