TLS, in German, signed 'R. Hess,' one page, 8.25 x 11.5, personal letterhead, January 17, 1936. Hess requests a copy of a book entitled Ratsells Von Jutland (Riddles, Puzzles, Problems and Mysteries). In part: 'So many people want to read my other copy that...I was worried that sooner or later it will become unsightly...I would like to keep a copy in good condition for the future. Therefore I would use the second copy for lending purposes. Heil Hitler!' In very good condition, with light spotty toning in the text area, a few minor tears to the edges and a stray crayon mark and stamp not affecting any of the text. Hess is quite scarce in letters.
