Description

“I would like very much to cooperate with you, but I simply cannot see myself hanging around on any certain Sunday in September or October, and I have no desire to commit myself that far ahead of time.”

Lot of two one-page TLSs, each 6.25 x 7, on attractive Peanuts letterhead. The letters are both addressed to Reverend Earl H. Estill of the First Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis. One letter dated May 7, 1969 reads, "Dear Mr. Estill: I would be very pleased to speak with your class some Sunday evening, but I cannot make an appointment that far ahead of time. Please write some time again in the fall and then perhaps we can arrange a date. Kindest regards. Sincerely yours, Charles Schulz." The other letter dated August 7, 1969 to Rev. Estill reads: "Dear Mr. Estill: I would like very much to cooperate with you, but I simply cannot see myself hanging around on any certain Sunday in September or October, and I have no desire to commit myself that far ahead of time. I am not trying to avoid talking with your group, for I really want to do so, but I also cannot commit my weekends with this sort of thing all of the time. Perhaps you can suggest a solution. Kindest regards. Sincerely yours, Charles Schulz.". In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelopes. COA John Reznikoff/University Archives and RRAuction COA.
