Mitsuo Fuchida

One of Japan's most skilled fliers, he commanded the air attack against Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and was the last to leave the battle area. He unsuccessfully tried to persuade his superiors to launch a second attack against Pearl Harbor. After the war Fuchida converted to Christianity and became a nondenominational preacher, traveling frequently to America; in 1966 he became a US citizen. Bold ink endorsement on the reverse of a 2.5 x 5 check. Double matted and framed, with a photo of Fuchida, small nameplate and two photos of the attack on Pearl Harbor, to an overall size of 21.5 x 12. In fine condition, with a bank stamp lightly affecting a couple letters of signature. RRAuction COA.
