“The Duke [sends] his thanks for the copy of his poem of Waterloo”

Born Arthur Wellesley, Wellington was responsible for Napoleon's crushing defeat at Waterloo. Third-person ALS, one page, 4.5 x 5.5, November 9, 1829. In full, 'The Duke of Wellington presents his compliments to Mr. Pursell. The Duke has received his letter and begs return his thanks for the copy of his poem of Waterloo.' In very good condition, with scattered foxing and toning and a bisecting horizontal fold. RRAuction COA.
