“I shall go into the city tomorrow to arrange financial matters with the Rothschilds and then I will endeavor to find you at the consulate.”

ALS, one page, 4.5 x 7, May 11, 1842. Letter to an associate. In full, 'I am so completely hampered and harassed [sic] with engagements for the very brief time I have to remain in this stupendous city that I can fix no time to see you. I shall go into the city tomorrow to arrange financial matters with the Rothschilds and then I will endeavor to find you at the consulate.' He adds a short postscript, 'I presume the consulate is in the same place.' In fine condition, with light rusty paper clip mark along top edge. RRAuction COA.
