In part, 'I shall be very glad to accede to your wish, but do not see how I can. My eyes have troubled me of late so that I have been obliged to be very careful in using them...I will not be able to get it copied before Monday when I go to West Point. If you can think of any way by which you can get it copied after the final copy is made...I will gladly accede to it unless the West Point committee objects, as I regard the address as theirs. I shall have no use for my own copy after Wednesday.' In fine condition, with second sheet professionally inlaid to a slightly larger sheet and a small hole to top border of second page.
