Description

Early letter from Lady Diana Spencer

ALS, one page both sides, 5.5 x 7, January 12, 1974. Letter to her friend Mike. In part, 'I'm staying here because it is far cheaper than the Lord Jim, but not as comfortable! I am taking up some teaching at a State School near Waterloo until I can get fixed up definitely - but I'll give you all the details when we meet. Sorry that you didn't make it before I left at Christmas...but I badly want to see you again in the flesh and I hope we shall be able to meet.' She also adds a postscript, adding 'Sundays and Thursdays, I should be free unless I've booked to go out.' In fine condition, with some light toning to reverse, ballpoint notation to bottom edge and nice bold text. Accompanied by the original stationary envelope, addressed in her hand, as well as the mailing envelope, with typed address. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from PSA/DNA, COA John Reznikoff/University Archives and RRAuction COA.
