Description

?Both of them see the intention of stealing my ideas.?

Scarce ALS in German, signed 'A. E.,' one page, 8.5 x 11, no date. Letter to a business associate concerning the Bendix Corporation. In full, 'I'm quite upset because I'm the one who has to play the role of the fellow who can't make up his mind in this Bendix business, something you really extended yourself for. I've submitted the matter to Nathan and Aidelotte. Both reacted negatively, not so much with respect to the matter itself but in so far as the contract is concerned. Both of them consider it impossible for me to assume unconditional responsibility for the Bendix Corporation in any legal actions concerning patents. Both of them see the intention of stealing my ideas, and then breaking off the connection, In any case they see no way to protect me from that. (Obligation to communicate + monthly notice). I, myself, am sensitive to the fact that none of the big executives discuss the matter with me and took no notice of the suggestions submitted to them. Instead, their's was just a mouse-trap reaction. Well, here I am sobered up and astonished! and my feelings can be characterized by the apt words: 'He died single. But he didn't croak either' (That's what the man who can't make up his mind about getting married says). (All honor to Mrs. Bucky's intuition!).' In fine condition, with mailing folds and a light paperclip impression to upper left. COA John Reznikoff/University Archives and RRAuction COA.
