Celebrated, prolific novelist and short story writer considered one of the preeminent writers to emerge from the American South in the years between the world wars. The term Southern Gothic was coined to characterize his dark, brooding vision of the South's decaying way of life. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1950. Signed book: Notes Of A Horse Thief. Mississippi: Levee Press, 1950. Hardcover, 6 x 9.5, 71 pages. Signed in blue ink by Faulkner on the colophon page stating that this is copy number 858/975.
