Description

Group of materials originating from the estate of John F. Kennedy's secretary, Evelyn Lincoln, all from the collection of noted JFK collector Robert L. White. Includes:

- a mimeographed 538-page day-by-day reference chronicling the first year of the Kennedy administration, beginning on January 21, 1961: "The first day on the New Frontier was cold and blustery, but throngs of celebrating Democrats, aided by the all-night efforts of 3,000 laborers and soldiers, conquered snow and tangled traffic to see John Fitzgerald Kennedy inaugurated as President."

- a mimeographed day-by-day summary of the second year of the Kennedy administration, beginning on January 1, 1962: "President Kennedy and Premier Khrushchev exchanged New Year's greetings. In the messages, made public yesterday, the two leaders acknowledged that their nations bore a grave responsibility to humanity and assured each other of a firm resolve to seek a durable peace in 1962."

- a clipped magazine article about JFK sent to Evelyn Lincoln by Madlyn Fitzgerald, sent to her at the White House.

- two color cardstock portraits of John F. Kennedy by Fabian Bachrach.

- the November 27, 1963 issue of Roll Call: The Newspaper of Capitol Hill, featuring a black-bordered portrait of the fallen President John F. Kennedy and a memorial column.

- six pages of carbon copy typescripts of JFK's handwritten notes, prepared by Lincoln after his assassination for use in cataloging his papers; notably, one represents his draft announcing his candidacy for the presidency, beginning: "I am announcing today my candidacy for the Presidency of the United States."
