Description

Four vintage matte-finish photos of Albert Capone, the younger brother of Chicago mafia boss Al Capone, with his wife, Dorothy Pucci Capone, measuring in size from 7 x 9.25 to 7.75 x 9.75, all taken in 1940 at Capone’s Palm Island estate in Miami Beach, Florida, with two picturing the couple posing together, and two of just Dorothy. In overall fine condition with some light silvering, and evenly trimmed edges to one couple portrait, which bears a crease to the bottom edge.

Albert 'Bites' Capone (1905–1980), born Umberto Capone, was the low-profile younger brother of gangster Al Capone. Although he occasionally drew the attention of law enforcement because of his family connections, he largely avoided his brother's criminal notoriety and legally changed his surname to Rayola in 1942 to distance himself from it. He spent his later years living quietly in the Chicago suburbs, a marked contrast to his infamous sibling.
