Original program for the European leg of the Who’s 1975 ‘The Who by Numbers Tour,’ 28 pages, 8.25 x 11.75, signed on the front cover in felt tip by Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle, and Keith Moon. The cover is also signed by Bill Curbishley, who adds the inscription, “To Megan.” The consignor notes that the autographs were obtained by a police officer in charge of the Who’s security when they performed at New Bingley Hall in Stafford, Staffordshire, England on October 3 and 4, 1975. In fine condition.
Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services and by a letter of provenance from the granddaughter of the original recipient, in part: “Ronald Edward Hammond, my grandad…was serving at Stafford Police Station and living in Keats Avenue when The Who were performing at the New Bingley Hall, County Showground, Stafford. Due to his rank he was responsible for all The Who’s security during their stay/performance and therefore in charge of looking after them while they were in Stafford…As a result of being in close contact, he had two t-shirts and the programme to me signed by them.”
