Official relay torch of the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics, comprised of steel and aluminum, measuring 30.5˝ in length and 4˝ at its widest point, designed by Blue Sky Design and manufactured by G. A. & L. Harrington. The beautiful aesthetic of this torch drew inspiration from the Sydney Opera House, the blue of the Pacific Ocean, and the Australian boomerang. Both sides of the top of the torch prominently feature the emblem of the Sydney Olympics. The upper portion of the front white and blue sheaths bear light scuffing and scratches, as does the main aluminum body. The Sydney Games were lauded widely as the best ever held, and the torch relay was a massive undertaking, taking place over the course of four months and including a total of 13,400 torchbearers.
