Description

Prince ‘tamboracca’ musical percussion instrument, in yellow and purple, with a yellow hexagonal frame inset with a purple variation of his ‘Love Symbol.’ Issued circa 1992, with examples distributed to the press as promotional items through Warner Bros., and others sold directly to fans through Paisley Park. Housed in its original Triamid Corporation box, dated 1992. In fine condition.

Commissioned by Prince in 1992, the tamboracca—a hybrid percussion instrument combining elements of a tambourine and maracas—was produced during his Love Symbol–era peak. Warner Bros. distributed examples to the press as promotional items, while additional units were made available directly to fans through his club, retail channels, and dedicated 800 number. The instrument has since become a sought-after piece of Prince memorabilia.
